I am Pengcheng Zhao, currently a Professor at Beihang University (BUAA) in China. Previously, I have worked at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (Leibniz-IPHT) in Germany and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). I received my Ph.D. from BUAA in 2022 and my B.S. from Jilin University (JLU) in 2015. Throughout my academic career, I have received numerous fellowships/scholarships and awards, including National-level Young Talents Program, Humboldt Research Fellowship for postdoctoral researchers, "China's Top 10 Optical Breakthroughs in 2020" (2020年中国光学十大进展), Best Oral Presentation Award at OFS-China 2024, and the Excellent Doctoral Thesis Awards of both Beijing and BUAA.

My research interests include laser spectroscopy, fiber-optic sensors and devices. I have led 3 research grant projects as PI or Co-PI, published over 10 peer-reviewed papers in journals such as Nature Communications, Laser & Photonics Reviews, Nano Letters, and co-authored 3 national patents. I also serve as a reviewer for international journals, such as ACS Sensors, Journal of Lightwave Technology, Optics Letters, Optics Express.
